What is Safer Recruitment? Safer Recruitment is a set of practices which are essential to ensure paid staff, contractors and volunteers are suitable to work with children and / or Adults at Risk. Is this eLearning for me? This course is for any employer or deployer such as paddlesports clubs and organisations, who provide services to children and / or Adults at Risk. If you recruit volunteers to work with vulnerable groups, you will need to follow the same kind of process although it may need to be adapted to be more informal. What does the course cover? There are 6 modules in the eLearning, covering the full recruitment process from creating role descriptions through to the applicant starting in the role. The eLearning will help you consider and review your organisation’s current practices and procedures to make them ‘Safer’. The Safer Recruitment eLearning is not a Safeguarding course or a recruitment course . It focuses on the importance of including measures in your recruitment process to deter, reject or identify people who might abuse or may not be suitable to work with the children or adults at risk your organisation provides services for. The Safer Recruitment elearning will cost £30 for British Canoeing, CANI, Canoe Wales and SCA members and £60 for non-members. 10 CPD points will be awarded for completing the elearning. You can find the course on the British Canoeing Awarding Body elearning store NOW!
