Paddle Northern Ireland is overseen by a voluntary Board of Directors made up of both elected and appointed directors who play a pivotal role in shaping the strategic direction of the association and ensuring compliance with The Code of Good Governance which sets out the principles and key elements of good governance for sporting organisations.

Our committee members bring diverse expertise and experiences to work collaboratively and advise on issues related to Equality, Diversity and Inclusion in Paddlesport.
Paddlesport is a great interactive and social sport that all members of the community should be able to enjoy regardless of background or circumstance. However, there are some perceived barriers that prevent people from trying or participating in the sport. The Committee will monitor and ensure Equality, Diversity and Inclusion are embedded in the operational plan of the organisation and give direction, where appropriate, to the board on EDI issues to make ‘Paddling for All’ an achievable goal.

The primary purpose of our coaching committee is to contribute to and support the overall development of coaching standards in Northern Ireland. Coaches and Leaders play a crucial role in shaping the experience and development of paddlers. The committee advise and inform the Paddle Northern Ireland Board on issues relating to coaching and oversee the strategic development and support of coaches and leaders.

The responsibilities of the delivery centre include managing the learner experience, supporting learner development and overseeing the provider workforce. The committee ensures consistent excellence in delivering British Canoeing Awarding Body Qualifications and Awards schemes.
