Patricia Scovell

Patricia started paddling in 2010 with Tollymore National Outdoor Centre and enjoyed a wide range of evening and weekend courses. To continue with her paddling journey she joined Belfast Kayak Club and was impressed with the practical help and coaching available within the club in open boating, white water and in particular sea kayaking, which is her main paddling activity. Patricia taught at secondary level all her working life and much of that time was as Teacher- in- Charge of Biology and a member of the Pastoral Team.

She has recently come to the end of a six year term as Chair of BKC and is keen to support Paddle Northern Ireland in the delivery of its strategy particularly in the development and delivery of specialised coaching programmes and sessions to clubs to ensure their growth and sustainability.
Patricia is a firm supporter of paddling clubs as they are the cornerstone of the sport and her focus as a Director will be to to represent the interests of clubs and support the network of volunteers.
