Paddle Northern Ireland Hosts Successful 2025 Coach Award Standardisation at Tollymore National Outdoor Centre

Paddle Northern Ireland held a Coach Award Tutor and Assessor Moderation and Standardisation event last week at Tollymore National Outdoor Centre. This marked the first in-person Coach Award Standardisation in three years, an opportunity for collaboration, learning and development for our workforce.

The event commenced on Wednesday evening with an in-depth exploration of the Coach Award Assessment Standards. Tutors and assessors came together to discuss and refine the benchmarks that ensure consistent and high-quality coaching across Northern Ireland. This collaborative effort aimed to uphold the integrity of the Coach Award and provide a robust framework for future assessments.

On Thursday, the focus shifted to the Core Coach Training programme. This session was part of the Annual Standardisation, which is a mandatory requirement for all coaches. The day's activities were designed to enhance the training programme, ensuring that it remains relevant and effective in developing skilled and knowledgeable coaches.

Thank you to the tutors and assessors who attended for their dedication and active engagement over the two days. Special thanks to our National Trainers and Standardisation Officers and to Tollymore National Outdoor Centre for hosting the event.

As Paddle Northern Ireland looks to the future, the insights and standards established during this event will play a crucial role in shaping the next generation of coaches, ultimately benefiting paddlers throughout the region. Here's to a future of continued excellence and collaboration!
